Catherine Uju-Ifejijka
Is a lawyer, business woman and philanthropist who studied law at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. On
completion of her studies and successfully passing her law school examination in flying colours, she was called to
the Nigerian Bar Association in 1986.
Mrs Uju-Ifejika began her career in the oil and gas industry in 1987. She was gainfully employed by the legal
department of Texaco as a junior counsel member. As a result of her hard work, and dedication to her job she
quickly rose the company secretary where she served in the capacity as the public and government affairs for
West African region.
Having reached the pinnacle of in Texaco, she decided to take on a new roles and responsibility as the Chief
Executive Officer of Britannia-U Nigeria Limited in 2007; which is an indigenous oil and gas company involved in
oil exploration, production, refining, supply and distribution.
The company successfully purchased a stake in the Ajapa Marginal field which is believed to have an estimated to
have oil and gas reserves estimated at $5.5 billion. The company was successfully in taking advantage of a local
initiative that was targeted at introducing indigenous oil and gas businesses into upstream and downstream
sectors.
Mrs Uju-Ifejika has recorded several achievements in the oil and gas sector. In the oil and gas industry she was
successful in building six subsidiary companies in less than a decade. She has other vested interests in the
following in the following companies, Nexttee Oil and Gas Trading Company Nigeria Limited, and Data Appraisal
Company Limited.
