What to keep in mind from the climate forum in Gabon?

Libreville au Gabon a accueilli la semaine africaine sur le climat

From August 29 to September 02, 2022 was held in Libreville in Gabon the African week on climate. It brought
together about 2000 personalities from the political and civil society from 54 African countries. This meeting
aimed to prepare African positions for the next Conference of the Parties (COP 27) which will be held in Egypt
             in November 2022.

             Africa's expectations for COP 27
The 54 African countries are estimated to
             emit approximately 2-4% of global
             greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. By
comparison, the United States alone are
responsible for over 25% of toxic
             compounds. And yet, African countries
are suffering just as much, if not more,
from the effects of climate change. It is to
overcome the situation that was decided in
2015, during the COP 21 in Paris, the
establishment of a green fund for the
             climate. This financial mechanism aimed
to raise at least 100 billion dollars per
             year from the most industrialized
             countries to finance climate change
             adaptation projects in developing
             countries.
